| This ministry enables our congregation to respond to the Gospel challenges of peace, compassion and justice. This may take place through direct service, special events, consciousness-raising activities, or by providing information to advocate on behalf of those who hurt, who are in need or who have limited choices.
Our Social Ministry reaches out beyond the walls of Zion into the community to families and individuals who may need extra support by:
• stocking our on-site Food Pantry and working with the Interfaith Community Outreach of Washington Township Area (ICOWTA) to reach out to families in need in the local area.
• providing Easter and Thanksgiving food baskets to local families through ICOWTA
• sponsorship and support for the Foster and Adoptive Family Services, a non-profit organization dedicated to foster and adoptive facilities.
• support for the Women’s Crisis Center in Flemington, NJ.
• sponsorship of Operation Chillout - a local charity working with the homeless of Morris County
• Christmas Child Shoebox outreach mission
• providing meals in time of need
• providing financial aid to those in need
• providing rides when needed
• organizing Habitat for Humanity workdays
• Christmas Gift collection
